In this model, artificial Rayleigh damping was introduced into the material layers to account for hysteresis effects, while low strain-rate tensile tests as well as high-speed impact tests were used to calibrate the strain-rate dependence of the materials. Internal pressure was modeled using a membrane of hydrostatic elements sharing nodes with the rubber core.
